Last night I did begin a new painting, the second of this semester. It will be a very large apple (what else) with a very close in perspective. I did lay in more color on still life No. 1 last night. Professor Clayton called me a "hard-edged neominimalist" last night. Noting the discord in the way I want to paint and the way I actually end up painting. All I could think to say was "welcome to my world". Everything is a compromise, or an accident...but sometimes a happy accident. We have a critique on Monday so hopefully I will be ready and the other students will like my painting.
