The Daily Rant

The still life with oranges is coming along nicely. I am still laying in colors and refining the perspective. Professor Clayton really likes the work and says it could be very close to finished now. I don't know about that. I'm going to follow his advice and step away from it for this class. I'm going to begin a new painting tonight. The composition is Professor Clayton's suggestion of a single and very large piece of fruit. Maybe a green apple since I have some experience with that form. The idea is that it will force me to pay close attention to color, shading, and light direction. These are areas in which I may have been avoiding to some degree in the past, or at least not taking them to completion.
