The Daily Rant

It is Thursday night. The Boston Red Sox are trying to stay alive in the A L Championship. I am studying for an organic chemistry exam. I have a tutorial session in 15 minutes at the library so I am taking a moment to update things. My two paintings are coming along nicely, soon I will begin a third. I will be constructing the panel over the weekend and into next week.

It's Wednesday and we get to paint tonight without any discussion...UNLESS..Professor Clayton does his "how to photograph your artwork with the new camera I bought this semester" lecture. That's okay because it's useful information. But we need to paint. We need to paint. We need to paint. We need to paint. We need to paint. Without painting we get depressed. We get hostile. It is Saturday and I did make it into the studio yesterday for a couple of hours. Professor Clayton was around to keep me company. He had some encouraging things to say about my two current works which I was glad to hear because I am a bit frustrated with them.

Well it's Thursday. I made some progress in last nights class, maybe a set back or two with some changes I made that don't look so good today. I did get some good advice from Professor Clayton so I will move ahead and make some changes. I just need to find more time to paint. Maybe over the weekend.

Monday. Painting class is tonight, and we will lose an hour of painting time to discussion. Still, maybe I can get 1.75 - 2.00 good hours of work into the time left. My white underpainting on still life #2 has finally dried so I can do some work on it tonight as well as some work on the oranges. The oranges which I decided to paint orange because they were orange. Should I paint the white tablecloth white? It is white. I had better check with an art critic.
